How it is calculated
- The digits of the year, the month and the day are added separately until each is a single digit. The addition stops at 11 or 22.
- The three results are then added together and reduced to a single digit in the same way. 11, 22 and 33 are kept as they are: these are the master numbers.
- Another common method adds all 8 digits of the birth date at once and reduces the total in the same way. The two methods sometimes differ, so this page shows both.
